    What you can book

    What it costs

Every project is quoted individually, in writing, in euro, and a quote holds for fourteen days. The price follows the material: how long it runs, how complex it is, how many files arrive, and how big the project is as a whole.

Mixing and mastering are not separate price tiers. A mix that leaves here is release-ready, so what sets the price is the material that arrives, not the name on the invoice.

Ask for a quote Free, written, and commits you to nothing.

    How long it takes

A single comes back within 48 hours. Longer records are scheduled per project and the date is agreed in writing before work starts — an agreed date is a held date.

    Payment

SEPA bank transfer or Stripe, in full before work begins — which is what makes the guarantee unconditional. Clients outside the EU are invoiced without Austrian VAT.

    Before you write

    Who masters here, and where?

Márton Fenyvesi, a mastering engineer based in Vienna, Austria, working since 2016. Records go out on BMC Records, Morotva Records, Jazzhaus, Magneoton and others, across jazz, classical, pop and hip-hop.

Do you work remotely, or do I have to come in?

Remotely. Files arrive and masters come back over the internet, and clients across Europe and the United States work this way as a matter of course. There is no attended session to book.

What if I do not like the first master?

The first master decides whether we go on. If it is not right, you do not pay and you owe nothing further.

    Approach

Mastering is the last stage a record passes through, and the last place its artistic intent can be sharpened or lost. My work is to enhance the channel between the artist and the listener, and to keep the intent intact while I do it.

A team who have worked on a record for months have weighed every detail and every moment against the vision. My judgement serves their process and their vision rather than competing with it — and the finished master has to work everywhere: in every room, on every system, for every audience.

    Written here

    • We are not the source of truth. The music is.

On what an engineer owes the music rather than to their own ear, on a trade that keeps accelerating, and on colleagues who went to my clients over my work.

    • The business model is not new

On imbalanced contracts, creators played against each other to shrink budgets, and the three practical things that follow once you know what your work is worth.

    • Vinyl loves your music exactly as it is

After dozens of vinyl projects: most music needs no compromise in the transfer, online specs usually damage it, and what "vinyl mastering" actually means.

Just a question? You do not need a finished record, a deadline or a link to write. Fill in your name, your email and the last box, and send that — a question is a perfectly good first message.

    Based in

Vienna, Austria. Records here have gone out on labels in Germany, France, Belgium and the United States, and material arrives from wherever the client is.

The guarantee Projects are paid in full before work begins, and the first master is where you decide. If it is not the record you wanted, the project ends there and the fee is returned in full — no negotiation and no partial claim. Paying up front is what lets the guarantee be unconditional.
